"Ellas ponen la música".

My Book: A Literary Chronicle Based on True Stories

📘 Ellas ponen la música

A book by Jessica Alarcon Arias

Written between 2023 and 2024, this book tells the real-life stories of three Peruvian women from different social backgrounds who became DJs in the electronic music scene. Each story reflects a unique path shaped by personal challenges, social adversity, and the pursuit of identity through music.

While music had always been present in their lives as a passion, it wasn't part of their formal education or their initial professional plans. Over time, and through life's twists and challenges, they found in music not just inspiration—but direction. With resilience and persistence, they built a place for themselves in a male-dominated industry.

Today, they continue working in music and stand as real-life examples of strength, creativity, and commitment—like many other women around the world who turn passion into purpose.

This non-commercial work was written in Spanish as part of a literary journalism project. It remains a personal, reflective piece about perseverance, art, and the power of music to connect and transform.
